We vinified the three components of this blend separately, allowing us to adjust the final blend to create the best structure. We had been intending to make a GSM, but we found the Shiraz-dominant blend worked better (the excess Grenache found a home in our Tempranillo).
The result is a light wine with a beautifully structured palate - generous dark-fruited Shiraz, spice & cherry-like sweetness of Grenache and the fragrance, backbone and savoury edge of Mourvèdre. Drink to 2028. Winemaker: Alex McKay.

"55% shiraz (Best's Old Block clone), 36% grenache, 9% mourvedre, 25% whole bunch, matured in a mix of new and used French oak. Light, bright crimson; light-bodied, but has a perfumed bouquet of red berries/cherries and a fresh palate with no off characters whatsoever. Finishes with silky tannins."
