Canberra Distillery Blood Orange Gin 500ml
The Canberra Distillery and “Made by Katherine” both produce old fashioned products made using traditional methods in small batches. We pay attention to ensure consistent quality and flavor. This gin is just the real deal – an old fashioned spirit made from fruit and spice. No preservatives, additives or artificial flavours. It is brought together with ingredients from other small growers and producers. It can be enjoyed straight, with mineral water or in cocktails. It retains the complex flavours of blood orange with a little sweetness.
BLOOD ORANGE MOJITO
Spring is literally a couple days away so let’s welcome the warm(er) weather with this fresh and fruity gin based mojito!
120ml TCD Blood Orange & Gin
Juice of 1 blood orange
50 ml simple syrup
approx 20 mint leaves
60 ml soda water
lots of ice
1. Shake a few mint leaves, Gin, simple syrup and juice with a little of the ice.
2. Fill a glass 1/2 way with crushed ice, mint leaves and a few orange slices.
3. Strain the mixture into two glasses and add soda water to top up.
4. Serve immediately.
I’d you prefer your mojito less sweet, reduce the simple syrup quantities or add some lime juice for a more traditionally tart flavour.
BLOOD ORANGE GIN TWIST
45ml gin and blood orange
15ml rhubarb syrup
10ml lemon
15ml cointreu
1. Add all ingredients and ice into a cocktail shaker.
2. Shake well and serve in a martini glass.
3. Garnish with blood orange rind.
