Eden Road Tumbarumba Pinot Noir 2022
Eden Road's flagship Pinot Noir is blend of the finest fruit from the estate's Courabyra vineyards in the Tumbarumba highlands. Now that there is no single vineyard wines being released from these sites, the very best fruit ends up in this bottling. For this release, Celine Rousseau chose a selection of Eden Road's best Courabyra Pinot Noir puncheons, originating from 18-year-old vines rooted in decomposed volcanic soil with basalt, and added 5% Pinot Meunier to the final blend. Fermented with 20% whole bunches in open fermenters the wine was lightly pressed directly to 30% new French puncheons for ten months maturation in French oak barrels. It's showing lovely, youthful scents of vibrant cherry, raspberry and forest floor notes which segue on to the bright, crunchy medium-bodied structure with lovely silky tannins and length. Another impressive release from the new team at Eden Road.
