Mount Majura Silurian Late Disgorged 2011

A$69.95

What a difference 11 years on lees makes with this blend of chardonnay and pinot noir. Disgorged July ’22 and a mere 900 bottles allocated to the style. I’d say get in because this is excellent as the freshness belies its age and its pale straw colour. Gently aromatic with lemon blossom and the merest hint of toasty aged complexity. The palate is crazily alive: vibrant, juicy and bright with a delicious oyster shell/saline character plus plenty of fine bead. The all-important acidity is showing no signs of waning. An excellent aperitif style. 95 points (Jane Faulkner, Wine Companion)
