Long Rail Gully Cetiri Field Blend 2021
Četiri (meaning four in Croatian, pronounced Che tear eh)
Long Rail Gully Četiri is a field blended aromatic white wine. The wine is a true blend of 4 generations and 4 varieties, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Semillon and Riesling.
A chance discovery of my Great Great Great Great Grandfathers past in Croatia and Australia has led to the creation of this wine. He was a winemaker from Croatia who immigrated to Australia and established orchards and vineyards in Young NSW. The Semillon comes from the only remaining vine planted by my 4 x Great Grandfather in the late 1800’s. Buds from that vine were grafted onto vines I planted 100 years later. They are now grown and fermented with our other varieties grown at Long Rail Gully.
It is a bright, fresh, aromatic white with hints of pear and lime and floral spicy aromatics.
The Četiri is drinking beautifully now. It will however develop nice honey and toast characters in the bottle.
