“Sorella” meaning sister in Italian is made by 3 women of the Canberra wine district. Carla, Sapling Yard Wines; Fran, The Food and Wine Marshall; and Sarah, Lake George Winery have worked and played together for a long time and this project was two years in the making with a teeny vintage first made in 2021, but halted due to Covid.
This wine introduces Carla’s 16 year old daughter, Erin, a burgeoning artist, to the world of wine labels with her design of our fierce Wineosaur. Erin managed to create an artistic identity that encapsulates the 3 winemakers personalities to a T and we hope you love the label as much as we do.
Harking back to Carla’s Italian heritage, where Ramato (a red Pinot Gris) has been made for centuries, using natural wine making techniques, this hand picked Pinot Gris from Boorowa left on skins in tank for 6 months is unfined, unfiltered and unadorned - a pure expression of fruit.
It’s grippy, juicy and dry and is the perfect picnic wine. Serve chilled, with bbq meat dishes and soft cheese platters.
